1,410m² of heavy-duty resin flooring for a demanding drinks production facility.
The Project
A leading drinks manufacturer in Ledbury required a 1,410m² food-grade floor for their new production facility. Working with Collins Design & Build, PSC installed a complete flooring solution designed specifically for the demanding requirements of a busy drinks manufacturing environment.
The new floor needed to do more than provide a durable working surface. It had to support a hygienic production environment, withstand intensive use, regular cleaning, and accommodate a new drainage system with consistent falls across the production area.
PSC selected the Pumadur HF heavy-duty polyurethane screed system to provide a robust, seamless and hygienic finish. Pumadur HF’s suitability for demanding food and beverage environments, combined with its durability and HACCP certification, made it a strong fit for the project’s operational requirements.
To achieve the required falls and provide a stable foundation for the resin system, the installation incorporated approximately 128 tonnes of polymer screed across the 1,410m² area. This established the correct levels required for the final Pumadur HF finish.
The result was a flooring system designed not simply for the space, but for the way the facility would operate; providing a durable, hygienic and practical surface capable of meeting the demands of modern drinks production.

The Solution
A nominal 9mm Pumadur HF polyurethane resin screed was applied across the full 1,410m² production area, creating a seamless, hardwearing and hygienic surface suited to intensive food and beverage production. As a HACCP accredited system, Pumadur HF was well suited to an environment where hygiene, food safety and long-term performance were key considerations. The Dark Grey textured matt finish provided a practical industrial appearance, while careful detailing around the perimeter and expansion joints ensured the floor performed as a complete system.
PSC installed 168 linear metres of 100mm-high polyurethane cove at the floor-to-wall junction, alongside the refurbishment of 350 linear metres of expansion joints. The joint detailing was carried through the resin system and around the drainage channels, maintaining continuity across the finished floor.
From initial preparation through to the final finish, PSC delivered the complete flooring installation in five weeks; on time and within budget.
The result was a durable food-grade resin floor, combining Resdev materials with PSC’s specialist installation expertise to create a flooring system built around the facility’s production, drainage and hygiene requirements.

The System
- Pumadur HF is a 6–9mm resin-rich, water-dispersed polyurethane floor screed designed for heavy-duty industrial environments. It provides a seamless, textured surface with a durable matt finish.
- Part of the HACCP-certified Pumadur range, Pumadur HF is designed for hygiene-critical environments including food and beverage processing, breweries, healthcare, manufacturing and chemical processing facilities.
- The system provides excellent resistance to heavy traffic, impact, abrasion, chemical attack and thermal shock, making it suitable for demanding industrial environments and areas subject to intensive use and regular cleaning.
- Its seamless, hygienic and easy-to-clean finish provides strong slip resistance in both wet and dry conditions, supporting safe and practical day-to-day operation.
- FeRFA Classification: Type 8 – Heavy Duty Resin Flooring. Trowel-finished, aggregate-filled systems, effectively impervious throughout their thickness. Very Heavy Duty >6mm.
